Whitman College’s Alpha Phi is the Beta Phi chapter, originally founded on this campus in 1942 and reestablished in 2011. Alpha Phi is a group of outstanding, ambitious women striving to promote leadership, academics, contribute to our community, and maintain lifelong friendships. In Alpha Phi there is encouragement, understanding, and opportunities that will last a lifetime. Alpha Phi friendships develop into connections that last far beyond our time at Whitman. Our members represent athletes from Varsity Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Lacrosse and Tennis, as well as the nationally ranked Woman’s Ultimate Frisbee Team, nordic skiing, and climbing team. We also have members of the Associated Students of Whitman College student senate and leaders on campus as Student Academic Advisors, Resident Advisors and Senior Resident Advisors. Each year, members are chosen to lead Scrambles, live in the outdoor interest house Tamarac, as well as participating in may more activities. At Whitman, Alpha Phi’s are involved on all parts of our campus and have the support of their sisters in all of their endeavors.
